You're handling this so well

You receive this well meaning comment with a smile and say thanks, mean while your brain flashes back to yesterday when you thought your heart couldn’t hurt any more and the overwhelm became too much. Maybe you were faking it until you make it as you smile back or maybe you really did feel good in that moment. Either way, I want to ACKNOWLEDGE you and all that you have endured. I want you to know “handling it well” includes:


  • feeling your fear or anxiety for days and then creating PRESENCE and SPACE for PROCESS and RELEASE

  • having self shaming inner dialogue like, "What’s wrong with me?" Then DISENGAGING and saying, "not today"

  • having a secret moment to CRY or ALLOWING a loved one to be WITNESS

  • giving yourself a day to not “be ok” and BE WITH what is, FEELING ALL the waves of emotions


My point to this is, you can BE PROUD of it all. You are handling it well, even when there isn’t a smile pasted on your face. Handling it well isn’t just about being POSITIVE. You are a human being and the WHOLE of YOU, everything that makes you, you, DESERVES to be seen, heard, acknowledged and LOVED.


It starts with you, LOOK INWARD, this is where you get your POWER back; this is sustainable with CONSISTENCY. All of these words I’ve highlighted point you in the direction of SELF CARE. These are the actions you can take, where you are in control. These are the gifts you can give yourself. All of these words are how you HONOUR and VALIDATE yourself and show some SELF LOVE. You are building SELF TRUST and a KNOWING that not only can you get through whatever comes your way, you’re killin’ it with your COURAGE to LEARN and GROW. EMPOWER yourself. Don’t let your fertility challenges define you, don’t let it steal possibly years of your life. Your power is in how you hold and engage with what is.
